The Wounded Achiever

Biggest Problem: You struggle to believe you can reinvent yourself after a difficult experience. You feel used up, empty, and unsure where to start again (if you can even find the energy, hope, and desire to start again).

Fears: That you wasted the last year, job, or decade. That starting over will be lonely and humiliating.

Dreams: To rediscover your spark. To be poured into. To try again, but this time with joy and boundaries.

Chin up, Birdie! With a little spiritual self-care, every Wounded Achiever can become a Redeemed Trailblazer. You can rise again...not from striving, but from healing. Your past doesn’t define your future; God does.

The Wounded Achiever → The Redeemed Trailblazer

Self-Care for Healing and Hopeful Reinvention

  • Write a “permission slip” to yourself: permission to rest, not rush, and to not have to prove anything to anyone.
  • Record voice memos of encouragement to replay on hard days (“I am not behind. I am being rebuilt.”)
  • Plan one “low-stakes” experiment per week—a class, meet-up, or prayer walk to explore without pressure.
  • Name and release one regret in prayer, then write a new faith statement over it.
  • Curate a joy folder or notebook (letters, Scriptures, past accomplishments) to revisit when doubt creeps in.

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

— Psalm 147:3 (NIV)

This verse speaks directly to your healing journey, reminding you that God is actively restoring your heart.
